...To make a good picture with Impossible film (Oh hey, I have a blog. I almost forget what a blog even was these past few months).
So Chris bought me a few packs of Impossible film for Christmas to see how I would like it compared to Polaroid film. I was skeptical at first but I mean, the stock of expired Polaroids isn't going to be around forever-- so I decided to give it a go. Results seen below. I got so worked up over the brown splotches I decided to send an angry email (not my proudest moment). Apparently I've received a "bad batch." Needless to say, I found that to be a lame answer and won't be purchasing anything from those hipsters anytime soon*.
*Let it be noted that I am probably the most back and forth person on the planet. I could very well be buying out Impossible's entire stock of film next week.
Oh, Hey There

So it seems I forgot I have this thing called a blog. This past month I started a new job, and I've also been spending a lot of time feeling sorry for myself for not being where I want to be career-wise (surprisingly time-consuming). I recently decided to finally stop sulking and start creating again. I don't want to wake up one day and realize I'm thirty years old and have spent the better part of my twenties moping when I could have been productive. Anyways, it seems I have also been collecting shoes during my hiatus, and today I was feeling a little playful.

When I came across Irene Serrano's work I found it very intriguing. She uses a variety of cameras and techniques, and the work is very experimental and unique.
Where Children Sleep

Photographer James Mollison did a very interesting series called Where Children Sleep, in which he photographed children from numerous cultures and their bedrooms. The idea sort of reminded me of Peter Menzel's series about food intake in different cultures. I really enjoy concepts like this, and I think his diptychs are very successful.
DIY

I've been obsessed with DIY home decor lately. I came across this tutorial for rolled paper flowers and knew I could do something fun with them since it's an easy, cheap project. I decided to spray paint my black Ikea wall mirror an ivory color to match my bedding, and hot glue paper flowers in the corners.
I have also been wanting to make something better to hang my jewelry from using some of the leftover branches from my curtain rod project. While wandering around Michael's I found chalkboard spray paint and had the idea of a chalkboard/necklace hanger thing. This is what happened:
The flowers, silver leaves and chain all came from jewelry I don't wear. Might as well use it for something.

Fall

I love fall. The weather has been absolutely perfect this weekend, and there's just so many more fun activities to do in the fall than any other time of year. Not to mention fall fashion is by far the best (boots, anyone?). Today was a perfect day for a relaxing run in the park followed by a picnic.
Chris caught me after my run
The first thing we saw when we got to the park was this car. Creepy.
