Photographer Peter Menzel spent time traveling 24 countries to document what families in different cultures consumed in a weeks' time. The results may be shocking to some. In Chad, a family of six survived off a meager $1.23 a week, while in Germany a family of four ate off of $500.07 per week. It was very eye-opening to see how little one really needs to survive, especially when we come from a country where food is literally bursting at the seams. Not only did I appreciate the concept of Menzel's project, but his photos were very thoughtfully composed as well. Read more about his series here.
